Motorcycles are the most widespread form of transportation and very much popular today. It is least expensive automobile to purchase and is widely used for everyday travel as well as activities off-road. There are many uses of motorcycle, for racing, long distance travel, cruising and weaving in and out of areas that are congested. And because it is small enough to drive in between two car lanes and drive down narrow alleys, it is more convenient to drive a motorcycle. Motorcycles are popular in Europe and Asia as well.. There are leading manufacturers of motorcycles today; Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki motorcycles.
There are disadvantages of using motorcycles. It has a higher rate of fatal accidents than a regular car vehicle. Because it has only two wheels, it is more prone to tipping and rolling over which leads to serious injury and fatal accidents. To avoid these accidents and prevent them, there are non-profit organizations and state agencies in the United States that conducts safety classes which includes a basic rider courses, intermediate rider course and advance rider course.
There are different types of motorcycles; the motocross, supermotors, trial motorcycles and track racing machines. These types are used for off-road competitions, indoor racing or on smaller tracks. Another type is dirt bikes which are used to ride through the woods in muddy conditions.
